Responsibilities of the Board of Directors for Every Meeting

1.      Meetings will start on time.
·         the first five minutes at the start of the meeting will be for socialization and settling in
2.      Come prepared.
·         bring your Board of Directors Binder to every meeting
·         come having read the minutes of the previous meeting
·         committee chairs will bring along and present their reports. Be prepared to give a copy or send it to the secretary
·         if there was homework bring your notes and make a copy for the secretary
·         write down any motions or other topics for discussion and bring it with you
·         bring your copy of the meeting agenda
3.      Attendance
·         To maintain good standing as a board member, attendance is a must.
·         Bylaw #II-3- b) Attendance- In the event a Director is absent for two meetings of the board in any twelve (12) month period (May to April) without explanation acceptable to the Board, the Board shall review the director’s absence and may, by resolution, request such director’s resignation. In the event a resignation is not received in thirty (30) days, the position shall be considered vacant.
4.      Be familiar with the bylaws
·         Especially ones concerning the roles, powers, code of conduct, duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors
5.      Mutual Respect
·         Treat others and their opinions with respect
